Dear
Parishioners and Friends:
The NEW RECITATION OF
THE CONFITEOR will be
familiar
to those of my
generation. As you
will see that we say once
again I
HAVE GREATLY SINNED
THROUGH MY FAULT,
THROUGH MY FAULT,
THROUGH MY MOST
GRIEVOUS FAULT,
THEREFORE… We acknowledge
our transgressions and ask
for pardon.
There will be a
RECEPTION FOR FATHER DONALD
ANYAGWA in the Father
Michael J. McGivney Building
on Sunday, September 12,
from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. After
seven months with us,
Father Donald has been reassigned
to the Church of Saint
Therese in Montowese.
The GOSPEL today,
September 5th, reminds us that
we must make choices and
that we are responsible for the
choices that we make. We
have the Holy Spirit to guide
us so that we can make
good decisions. By prayer we can
ask God’s assistance then
we need to listen to God so that
we do the right thing.
In the realm of the
world to achieve SUCCESS people
are willing to make great sacrifices in
order to succeed.
In business people will study and get
advanced degrees;
they will be willing to work extra hours and
on weekends:
they will constantly upgrade their skills in
their field.
In the Sports World, the athletes will train
hard and follow a strict regiment; they will keep their
minds focused on the prize. We as disciples of Christ should apply the same methods in our SPIRITUAL LIFE and PRAY FOR
THE COURAGE AND STAMINA to achieve our goal,
HEAVEN.
Sincerely,
Reverend John J. Bevins,
Rector
